03. Various processing

○ Gold processing
Gold processing, also known as gold leaf, is done by selecting from a wide variety of techniques such as gold printing, gold paint, rubbing, and cutting to bring out the color and pattern.

○ Gold leaf
This is a technique of gold leaf that can only be achieved by one craftsman in Kyoto. The overlapping beautiful faded checkered patterns create a unique and tasteful texture.
○ Aperture
This is the highest quality dyeing technique. It is tied with thin silk threads, and is a highly advanced technique that only a limited number of craftsmen possess.
04. Embroidery

○ Gold thread embroidery
This technique involves wrapping thick thread or gold thread that is too thick to thread through an embroidery needle around a wooden piece, and then fastening it with a binding thread while rolling it. The gold thread embroidery adds a three-dimensional effect and adds a touch of elegance.

○ Takeyacho embroidery
During the Edo period, embroidery artisans gathered in Takeyacho, located east of Nijo Castle in Kyoto, and the delicate and elegant embroidery they produced eventually came to be known as "Takeyacho embroidery." This is a highly advanced embroidery technique in which patterns are created by sewing along the grain of the fabric, one stitch at a time, using gold foil paper and colored threads.
Gorgeous, elegant, and infinitely delicate. The embroidery changes its lustre depending on the angle from which it is viewed, as it is made by twisting a specially developed gold and silver thread into colored threads that are said to be dyed over and over again until a satisfactory color is achieved. Luster and three-dimensionality dance across the fabric. Kyoto embroidery is carefully layered stitch by stitch using colorful silk threads and gold and silver threads. From the various techniques available, the most suitable one for the design is selected, and then the embroidery is completed by a skilled artisan.
