A "hon fukuro obi" is an obi in which the outer and inner linings are integrated and woven into a single tube. In other words, a hon fukuro obi is not sewn together into a bag-like shape, but is woven into a bag-like shape at the weaving stage. Because it is woven in a tubular shape and inside out, even the weaver cannot see the pattern until it is finished. Therefore, it requires skilled techniques.
