This is a small kimono fabric dyed with pine soot.

As the name suggests, pine soot dyeing is made using pine wood.

The soot from smoking pine roots is called pine soot. Pine soot is mixed with glue and dissolved in soybean juice to make dye.

This is called pine soot dyeing. The fabric has a embossed floral pattern and has butterfly patterns here and there.

The butterfly designs are pale pink and cream in colour making this a very cute komon kimono fabric.
