Among the many types of fukuro-obi, the most highly skilled and rare of them all is the Tsume-tsuzure obi, which is made using a technique that requires the most advanced skills. The craftsman's own claws are shaped like the teeth of a saw, and the obi pattern is woven using the delicate touch of his fingers and nails.

This obi not only has the dignity and elegance of a formal obi, but also has a wonderful presence at any fancy occasion.

The pattern of pine trees and waves is intricately and delicately woven, making this a gorgeous, exquisite obi suitable for a furisode or houmongi kimono.
